Getting the Word Out

About three years ago, while trying to recover from a serious back injury, I was researching and expanding Vignetting Photography product and service line. At the time, I was attempting to expand my product line and services to try to entice new customers. It was extremely difficult because I was really not sure what my customers had desired and/or wanted.

Intuitively, I did realize that the more products a business has to sell, the more ways it has to attract customers. I branched out and attempted to create a service line that included a photo booth and video slideshow software, or products lines such as, canvas prints, metal prints, custom iPhone covers, and custom Christmas Card designs, to name a few additional products. The realization that a broad line of products and services create more selling opportunities for the sales force.

The prospective customers and potential to sell more to clients created a broad product line within our business. This approach of marketing efficiency translates into more sales and a higher level of profitability. We attempted to create a product/service that both enhanced customer value and increases our market share. One particular product/service we had introduces was providing a video slideshow video for our clients as part of their wedding packages.

The video slideshow video created a Brand-Image Communications, which had triggered an emotional response from our customers that build a stronger connection between the brand and the image of our organization. Initially, I thought this approach was a connection between the organization and customer only. However, while utilizing Social Media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube, our brand was promoted further through a social network that our clients were involved in.

The basic marketing communications are to build a branding image, create interest in a product or service and motivate the customer to act. Of all of the products and services that were generated during the summer of 2015, the video slideshow video was the most effective product/service that we had provided. The video slideshow video created for our clients, help in exposing all three marketing communications effectively. The less favorite item was our photo booth service and iPhone case product, which were discontinued.

Enclosed are a couple of video links we had created for our clients, enjoy.

  1. Angel,
Good blog about Vignetting Photography product and service line. It helped me understand some of the intricacies of your industry. I like your idea of broadening the depth of products you are able to offer your customers. Many times when people are planning a wedding they have to piece everything together from many different sources. What you did adds some good value to the customer by saving them some time and efforts. They may even be willing to pay a premium for the quality services and packages that you offer. The only thought that I might share is the name - Vignetting Photography product and service line is quite a mouthful. You could keep Vignetting Photography for the portraits and straight photo work. You may want to consider a sub brand for just the weddings and parties - maybe another sub brand for all entertainment services. Unless you could find a name (one word or few words) that tells all the services. Vignetting Entertainment & Photography? Just a thought. I like the videos and photography work that you shared, it's really cool. - Mike
